Painting started as a therapeutic exercise to reunite with my childhood visions and perspectives of the people I grew up near. I picked up a tiny brush intent on expressing how I saw folks then, and discovered I still see them this way. Being quirky, I illustrated representations of a person’s character traits and behavior patterns as ornately-costumed wildlife. I found 16th century fashion afforded me the opportunity to add details to further illustrate and refine a subject’s personality.
As I add images to this gallery, I will share notes about the various characters. Perhaps you’ll be able to recognize some of these characters in your experience too.
